Job title: ABA Therapist

ABA therapists utilize a behavior analysis method to provide behavioral improvement for Autism sufferers. By observing and responding to different behaviors, ABA therapists provide guidance to patients with the intention of helping to alter those behaviors in an observable way. The end goal for ABA therapists is to help patients make changes in behavior that allow them to more easily manage social interactions and situations.

  • Provide in-home and/or out in the community ABA therapy for clients with Autism
  • Direct implementation of the Treatment Plans developed by the BCBA
  • Participate in ongoing supervision
  • Implement a variety of teaching procedures (discrete trial, naturalistic teaching, stimulus control. stimulus fading, discrimination training, use of contingency reinforcement)
  • Assist with client assessment procedures (curriculum-based, developmental, social skills, assist with functional assessment procedures, observational recording of behavior and environment)
  • Prepare data collection, implement measurement and recording procedures, and maintain data
  • Assist in the creation of instructional materials
  • Understand essential components of a behavior plan and implement behavioral reduction interventions (differential reinforcement procedures, extinction procedures)
  • Effectively responds to and manages crisis situations which may include physical aggression
  • Willingness to learn new software and use adaptive equipment as appropriate
  • Meet client and environmental needs as required (lifting, bending, crawling, squatting, reaching, moving around on the floor, toileting, feeding, self help skills, assisting with personal hygiene needs, and other duties as appropriate)
  • Complete necessary documentation and paperwork including service logs, timesheets, travel reports, etc. according to company guidelines.
  • Availability to work nights, early mornings, and/or weekends, and travel on an as needed basis
  • Attend trainings as required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred; Associate Degree or High School Diploma with at least 3 years in the field.
  • Must pass necessary training, including CPR, First Aid, restraint training.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Able to perform physical requirements including but not limited to bending, squatting, running, jumping, lifting, crawling
